The Driver Training Center @
Westwood High School
( 200 Nahatan Street, Westwood 02090)

Driver Education at Westwood High is taught by a thirty-five year experienced teacher
named William Ducheneau. Classes begin in both September and January.
Classroom sessions are held one evening (3 hours) or two afternoons (4 hours) per week.

Students must be least 15 years and 9 months of age to begin this course. The classroom number will be announced several weeks before classes begin. Registration forms should be picked up near the main office or by contracting either DTC or Mr. Ducheneau (foreign language department)

One week classroom sessions are also available to Westwood students during school vacation periods. One week courses meet at the DTC office at 877 Washington Street in Norwood. Weekly sessions are held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for 5 days.

Most driving lessons will be scheduled with Mr. Ducheneau. Students that have had their learner's permit for at least 2 months and have paid in full may schedule driving lessons. Students are required to have their learner's permit in good standing for six months before taking a license test. Students are picked up and dropped off for driving lessons at Westwood High.

DTC sponsors over 90% of students for their license test. There is an additional charge for this service. The required parents' class is held at the DTC office in Norwood. The cost of this session is included in the Westwood driver ed. fees.
